A Blog about Taking Dogs, Cats, and other Pets with You on the Road

One of the best ways to move around town with your trusty Fido friend is with a pet carrier backpack. There are a lot of puppy backpacks available, in a variety of colors and designer styles, so you are most likely going to find something that fits your personal taste, as well as your dogs special personality!

It is absolutely safe to lug your pet around in a backpack carrier. In fact, most dogs love it. The carriers are designed to strap your dog in snugly in a secure, comfortable position where he will be able to see everything. There is no chance of him getting out of yhe the backpack, so no need to worry about that. Carrying him with you on your back is a unique bonding experience for you both, since your dog will be riding right up against your body where its nice and warm and he can be in constant contact with your smell. After a few practice trips, he will come to love the special backpack outings you will have together.

But, dog backpack carriers are meant for small dogs or puppies. Even medium-sized dogs will probably be way too heavy for a human to comfortably carry on their back. However, if you have got a tiny dog, or one that is very light, you will have no problem taking him anywhere and everywhere with you on your back. For the bigger dogs, a large pet carrier is in order. Do not be surprised if he starts to get excited when you bring out the backpack, just like he used to when you brought out his leash. People passing by will be curious and will likely ask you questions about your backpack. This is your opportunity to let everyone know about the benefits of using a backpack to carry your dog. Spread the word, and soon you will be seeing a lot more people with dogs on their backs!
